The Grace University Royals won the NCCAA Div II Men's National Basketball Championship tonight for the first time in Grace U history beating Southwestern College 73-67. The game was virtually tied at half with Grace securing a one point lead. The Royals made some adjustments at half; they came out playing very strong defense and kept the Southwestern team well contained in their scoring. The game was back and forth until the last 10 minutes of the game where GU pulled away by 10 after hitting a couple of three point shots. Ed Kaiser was named to the All-Tournament Team; Paul Putz was named Tournament MVP. Unofficial point breakdown:
