Royals Gear Up for New Season
The Grace University Lady Royals Volleyball team gears up for another exciting season, after a strong 2nd place finish nationally last year. In her 6th season, Head Coach Angie Taulborg’s commitment to character building and faith development has led her to a National Coach of the Year award and four national tournament appearances. In 2007, the Royals finished 1st in their conference and 2nd in the nation with 33 wins and 3 losses. The Royals return 5 starters from last year’s team, including the 2007 NCCAA Div II National Volleyball Player of the Year, Mary Harder. The Lady Royals have a tough non-conference schedule preparing them for national competition. Grace University is excited and positive about the incoming recruiting class. “These freshmen are strong all the way around and will make great leaders for this team in the future,” said Coach Taulborg. The Royals compete in their first home game at the Jim Classen Gymnasium on the campus of Grace University on September 23, 2008 at 7:00pm. The Royals look forward to again hosting the NCCAA Div II National Volleyball Tournament on November 13-15, 2008. “Our team has really been unified in our practice times. I am excited to see how these young women compete through this season,” Coach Angie exclaimed. Follow the Royals on the road to their national tournament at www.GraceRoyals.com. |
