Men’s Soccer: The Royals Shut Out Calvary 5-0 in Home-Opener

OMAHA, NEBRASKA: The Grace University men's soccer team hosted the Calvary University Warriors on Saturday, August 26, and won the match 5-0. 

Grace started the game aggressively with two shots on goal in the first two minutes.  Nick Scholl scored the Royals' first goal of the season, assisted by Alex Drent, nineteen minutes into the first half.  Jorden Kelly scored the second goal two minutes later off an assist from Noah Bishop.  The Warriors' defense struggled against the Royals' relentless offense and allowed two more goals, scored by Alex Drent and Junior Dernier, toward the end of the half.  During the second half of the game, the Royals shot several more times but were unable to finish until Nick Scholl scored his second goal of the day with six minutes left in the game. 

The Royals shot 24 times; 13 of their attempts were on goal.  Calvary's goalkeeper Adam Bielenberg saved 8 shots.  The Warriors shot 4 times, although none of their shots were on goal.  Calvary had 4 corner kicks to the Royals' one.
