DUBUQUE, IOWA: The Royals lost their matchup against the Emmaus Bible College Eagles 1—2 on Friday night.
Grace's Nick Scholl scored the first goal of the game with 19 minutes left in the first half. The Eagles responded with a goal of their own 8 minutes later, bringing the score to 1—1. The Eagles scored their second and final goal four minutes into the second half. The Royals were unable to score again and lost the game, although senior goalkeeper Spencer Hoyt had 7 saves. Senior forward Jordan Kelly led the Royals with 2 shots on goal, both of which were saved by Emmaus' goalie Gabriel Salinas. Emmaus led Grace in shots on goal (9-5) and corner kicks (7-1) as well as total shots (17-8).
UP NEXT: The Royals will play Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa, on Sat., Sept. 2, at 3:30 p.m. Grace's next home game will be on Sat., Sept. 9, against Ozark Christian at 2 p.m.
