Men’s Soccer: Royals Struggle Against Central Christian College

OMAHA, NEBRASKA: The Grace University men's soccer team played the Central Christian College Tigers (5-1) at home on Tuesday, September 12, and lost 1-7.  Grace now has a 2-3 record.

The Royals struggled to keep up with the Tigers' offense throughout the game.  Despite a spectacular 6 saves from senior goalie Spencer Hoyt in the first half alone, the Royals allowed 5 goals in the first half.  Sophomore Alex Drent scored for the Royals in the first half, leaving the score at 1-5 at halftime.  In the second half, the Tigers scored twice more to bring the final score to 1-7.  Hoyt totaled 13 saves throughout the game. 

UP NEXT: The Royals host Dakota Wesleyan on Friday, September 15, at 5:45 p.m. at Bergquist Stadium.
