OMAHA, NEBRASKA: The Grace University men's soccer team hosted their matchup against Manhattan Christian College on Tuesday, October 10. After being down 0—4 at halftime, the Royals kept up with the Thunder in the second half but ultimately lost 2—6.
The Thunder scored the first goal of the game nine minutes into the first half, following it with a second goal seven minutes later. The Royals allowed two more goals, one in the twenty-first minute and one in the thirty-eighth minute, bringing the score to 0—4 at the half. The Thunder scored again eighteen minutes into the second half, but the Royals responded with a goal of their own from freshman Jackson Ammons three minutes after that. Four minutes later, seventy minutes into the game, the Thunder scored their last goal of the game. Alex Drent scored the last goal of the game in the seventy-fifth minute off an assist from Junior Dernier. The final score was 2—6.
The Royals had 10 total shots, 6 of which were on goal. Senior keeper Spencer Hoyt had 8 saves, 4 in each half.
UP NEXT: The Royals will host Lincoln Christian on Saturday, October 14. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m.
