Volleyball: Grace Loses to Governor’s State University in 3 Sets

UNIVERSITY PARK, ILLINOIS: The Royals traveled to University Park, Illinois, to play the Governor's State University Jaguars on Friday, September 29, and lost in 3 sets with scores of 25-27, 15-25, and 19-25. 

The Royals, who are still missing their starting setter due to sickness, barely lost the first set against the Jaguars by 2 points, 25-27.  They lost the second and third set 15-25 and 19-25. 

Grace had 25 kills, led by Aaliyah Dunbar with 8 (.211).  The Royals had 31 digs; Destiny Vasquez had 7, closely followed by Taylor Thompson and Chloe Corbett with 6 each and Karissa Negley with 5.  The Jaguars had 41 kills and 37 digs. 

UP NEXT: The Royals play twice on Saturday, September 30, once against Indiana University Northwest (11 a.m.) and once against Judson (1 p.m.).  Both games will be held at Indiana University Northwest.
